1st Day of my 30th year with Mary Kay

As I begin my 30th year with Mary Kay, it's so amazing to reflect on how this career has impacted my life. While I don't place a great deal of value in the "mystery" of numbers, I did marvel at the fact that our Area brought 81 new Consultants into our family on the day I signed my agreement - November 18, 1981! Never in our illustrious history have we ever shared with 81 people in ONE DAY! I am so proud of you!

Honestly, it's very difficult to even imagine how my life would have been spent, had I not been "randomly" selected to be a contestant on the Price is Right...and for that single taping of the game show to be the one that offered Mary Kay products as a prize; that the product would then be immediately "pulled" at the request of the Mary Kay Legal Department...never to be offered again.

I just returned this past week from our NSD Retreat in Dallas, where we all sat at the feet of two incredible Mary Kay pioneers - Anne Newbury and Carolyn Ward...and their message was powerful, yet simple: carry on the traditions and culture created and passed on from Mary Kay Ash, to the generations that follow us...and do so with integrity, morality, character, compassion, sisterhood, love, and persistence.

I was asked to prepare the closing "wrap up" for our gathering of Nationals, and as often happens, I did not have the inspiration to put anything on paper. But in my earnest prayers, came the Bible verses, and the message to deliver (at 5am, only hours before our event opened)and while I had no idea what Anne and Carolyn would speak about...the wrap up was exactly tied to their message. I always say "accidental?" No!"Godcidental!"

Ours is a precious gathering of women supporting women...creating leaders...developing systems...sharing with and encouraging each other to become better wives, mothers, citizens in the community. And...without question...supporting and maintaining Mary Kay's true mission - of a company yielded to God's Soverign Will, doing unto others as we would have them do to us, and living out daily her priorities of God first, Family second, and Career Third.

Reflecting on this anniversary day....and marking today as the official beginning of my 30th year....I am more excited that ever to watch and celebrate with you - and watch as your dreams become realities!

And did I say...how grateful I am...that this was the path - chosen for me - to be used as an "agent of change" for His Glory...and to "partner" with all of you, in this precious sorority called Mary Kay Cosmetics!

Happy Anniversary Helou Area - 16 amazing years !

Hello to the most AMAZING National Area in all of Mary Kay (at least I think so!)

Happy 16th Anniversary to us ! March 1st marks our Anniversary as an Area and as I shared that with Sidney she said, "Mom, I remember the DAY Jordan and I walked in from the school bus and you and Dad were in the foyer jumping up and down." That was 16 years ago ! Sidney was 6 years old and Jordan was 9 ! IMAGINE how YOUR FAMILY will react when YOU achieve a goal that you've talked about AND talked about A N D ..... talked about ! I'm sure they will have a vivid recollection just as Sidney did when I shared our Anniversary date with her !

Today, Sidney "confidently" leads worship and teaches students how to sing ! Today, Jordan is a Senior Cadillac Sales Director ! I wonder HOW much of an influence the Mary Kay "way of life" had on who they are as young women today ? My friends .... our history has alot to do with shaping WHO WE ARE TODAY ! I am constantly GRATEFUL for the impact the Mary Kay "culture" has had in the life of my family! IMAGINE what kind of impact your career can have on your family!

Mary Kay has made such a difference in our spiritual condition as a Family because of the values Mary Kay set forth 47 years ago. The idea of faith, family and career; the idea of following the Golden Rule way of thinking and living .... "To do unto others as you would have them do unto you." That is not the norm, my friends ! When you've had years and years of that immersion into our pink culture - it becomes a part of who you are :o)

I thank the good Lord that HE placed me in this company. I hope you take the time to put your thoughts of gratitude down on paper. List the things that you've learned since being a part of Mary Kay. List the things you've changed since being part of Mary Kay. List the things that have helped you grow .... and the different arenas in which you've grown ! There are probably many things we take for granted today ! I am so thankful for the growth in my ability to communicate with people .... so different from how shy I was 29 years ago ! I'm so thankful for being able to make a decision ... unlike 29 years ago (just watch the Price is Right Game show clip!) I'm so thankful for the quality of relationships I've enjoyed through my Mary Kay girlfriends and their families !

How can YOU enjoy all of this .... and have Mary Kay be a "financial" blessing to your family....? Simple ! Put the product on faces ! Hold parties! Have fun ! Passion is so much more attractive to people than knowledge ! BEE passionate about PARTIES and watch your bank account grow - right along with your confidence in what you're offering people and why you're doing what you do!

Kicking off the CAR by SEMINAR Mentoring Program was "eye-opening" to me! The stories of consultants who rallied to do 8 PARTIES and place their $600 w/s order to join in on this mentoring group; blew my mind !
