Hello ALL .... Happy February !
We are just a bit away from March ... our 16th Anniversary as a NATIONAL AREA FAMILY ! Congratulations to
us ! ! ! It's hard to imagine beginning my 29th year with Mary Kay; and 16 years as a National Area ! Time sure does fly by ! I used to hear people say the older you are the quicker time passes ! I never believed that .... until recently ! I have enjoyed being in Mary Kay and cannot imagine it's been this many years ! Daniel and I are also celebrating OUR ANNIVERSARY in March as well .... 35 years ! So, we were married 6 -1/2 years before WE became a part of Mary Kay !
CAREER CONFERENCE is right around the corner ! I'll stand up ON my "soap box" until I'm blue in the face sharing with you the 1,001 reasons WHY you should NOT miss Career Conference ! I can literally SINGLE OUT CAREER CONFERENCE as "T H E E V E N T" that KEPT me in this company! I joined in November of 1981 with the thought in January to get out of Mary Kay ! I was encouraged to sell products BEFORE I made that decision...so I did ! February and March ! April I attended CAREER CONFERENCE which was a 10-hour drive from Toledo, Ohio (the CLOSEST ONE to me) ! That 24 hours showed me that it didn't take a "certain type" to be successul in Mary Kay. It also showed me that the women who were showcased as TOP Directors and TOP Nationals had overcome obstacles to get to the point they were on the leadership ladder of success ! They were all unique with different gifts, talents and stories to share !
I saw a "sisterhood" of women supporting each other and cheering each other on to victories ! Women celebrating women ?! Never saw that when I was in corporate America ! The training classes were tailored to the different levels on the career path. There was a special luncheon and a phenomenal speaker sharing her "I" story ! I will never, EVER ... forget the HEART commitment I made that day to truly work Mary Kay as a business!
I have NEVER LOOKED back, my friends ! So ... if your heart is saying something like: "I think I SHOULD go.."
DON'T question it !
Follow your heart - and FIND a WAY or MAKE a WAY to be there with all the other consultants, Directors and NSD's at a CAREER CONFERENCE near you ! You'll be ready to RUN to the Seminar Finish Line and perhaps with a renewed focus and excitement about your goals and dreams !
The company is SO wonderful to give us a BOX of free "retail product" to help defray the cost of attending the CAREER CONFERENCE ! What more could they do to help us learn about the Spring trends, how to run our businesses, immerse us in a pink culture of enthusiasm and CAN-DO spirit...other than sign us up themselves ?!
